This modern-yet-quaint accessory dwelling unit (ADU) all but eliminates the idea of a ‘living space on top of a garage.’ Instead The Snug has a character all of its own. When climbing the stairs, your first view is that of the Murphy bed, that when closed, reveals magnified floral artwork. Lining the entire length of one wall, thoughtfully allocated custom millwork maximizes the interior footprint and gives an adaptability as the owner’s needs change over time. Once back on the main level, the collapsing door wall opens to a perfect Chicago-summer patio.
