In the Spring of 2020, the Chicago City Council began concerted discussions of the possibilities of reestablishing coach houses with the Chicago Building Code. While this discussion dragged into the following year, we worked with Hayes A+D to develop concepts that were both aesthetically and financially comfortable. The Norm focused around a more typical open plan coach house space while the Duo provided for 2 bedrooms or a more live-work option spread amongst the 2 levels of the home.
